Sandstorm

from Reel Time by Scott Ampleford

/

about

As storm at the heart of The Forgone Storm began to coalesce as a concept, the desert setting was still part of the story.
In the script, the Doctor looks into the storm and sees visions of his escapades in previous episodes. Though this idea carried through into the final episode, the sandstorm was changed into an electrical storm as the desert location was dropped in favour of the black & white void.

The opening four notes in this track are the "Key" motif, first heard at the end of episode 5, to imply that the Doctor had made his way to the desert through a door opened by that key. Episode 6 had yet to be produced at the time this was composed, how's that for musical foreshadowing?
